I Knew This Blog was Worth Something!

Over at the Game Dame blog there has been some discussion of blogging etiquette, and one of the “pet peeves” aired was how some bloggers ask for donations to a personal blog through PayPal. This I do not understand, but apparently it has been done often enough to get some notice in the blogosphere. Personally, I think that if you choose to blog, you choose to carry the cost, and with sites like WordPress.com that let you do it for free, I just don’t see the problem.
This led to another post that talked about how much the Game Dame blog was worth (apparently $23,146.14). This intrigued me, so I clicked on the link that was provided to show how this number was calculated, and found myself on a site run by a guy named Dane Carlson, which talks about business opportunities. He created an applet using a Technorati API that calculates the value of each link to your blog. Just type in the URL for your blog, and it will return its overall value. This is a neat little piece of information to know, especially if it is for a blog you run for your business. Check it out!
